Center for Independent Futures (CIF) is a not-for-profit organization that helps individuals with disabilities and their families access the skills and opportunities to realize full lives. CIF provides assessment, planning and independent living skills tutoring and support services for families located in the Chicago area. In addition, CIF trains family groups, schools and agencies to recreate CIF's housing models, to help students prepare for the transition from high school, and to help individuals plan and build support networks for independent living.
Why am I naming CIF first?
CIF represents innovative thinking to me. And in today's time of budgetary crisis and lack of adequate spending for people with disabilities the way out of our mess is innovative solutions to caring for people with disabilities. CIF represents that to me.
